Instagrammeren bag @fitbysophy, Sofie, deler i dag hendes bedste glædesråd.

Hvad gør du for at holde dig glad i hverdagen?
Ude godt – men hjemme bedst.

Sofie, more known as @fitbysophy on Instagram, shares with us her best happiness tips. Personally, I’ve followed her Instagram profile for a long time. She has such a wonderful and incredibly liberating and realistic approach to health. THANK YOU for sharing it with us, Sofie!

MEET SOFIE: Sofie is the ‘instagrammer’ known as @fitbysophy, about everything from cake to kettlebells. It is important to Sophie to show how health can take many forms – it’s not just about training and green food. Focus should not be on the body’s appearance. Instead, Sofie works out to get a strong body and an even stronger mind that stands through life’s ups and downs. That is, to Sofie, the essence of a healthy lifestyle. Sofie has over 10,000 followers, and I understand why. You should definitely take a look at her profile HERE.

What is happiness to you? “I think happiness is many things. I am happy when I have people around me who I love and who makes me laugh. I feel happy on a gray Tuesday evening on the couch watching television with my boyfriend, together with all my friends or surrounded by my whole family. It is also important to me to have ambitions and strive to achieve them – both at work and in my training. It makes me happy when I’m good at it. It also means that I sometimes get really busy, because I want to do it all – and to be good at it all! That is why the key word in my everyday life is balance. I have to feel and be grateful for all that I have already achieved – that makes me happy! “
How do you stay happy in your everyday life? “It’s the little things that make me happy in everyday life. A compliment, a good workout, when I get cleaned up or hand in a good job. Those things make me happy. When that being said I do not strive for happiness every day. I’m totally okay with also having off-days and when it all feels not so good. It does not make me sad. On the contrary, it makes me even more happy on the good days.”
When do you feel the most happy? “I feel the happiest when I travel. I spend all my money on traveling and have been on all continents. Travel creates memories and expand my horizons, so I can be even more grateful, when I return. Out is good but home is best. In addition, I feel happiest when my body is in balance. When I fill it up with good food, work outs and care for it. I just need my head to be in the process too – then I am a happy girl! “
What is your greatest happiness killer? “I am very privileged to not have experienced a great sadness yet. I know the day will come, but it makes me feel uncomfortable to know that I have no idea how to handle it. It is without doubt one of life greatest happiness killers! If I instead turn my attention to the little happiness killers in every day, it is when I set my expectations too high for myself. I hate not to live up to my own expectations. For example, if my body is not like I want it, if I do not get a good grade, or if I for the third night in a row eats oatmeal for dinner. High expectations can kill my joy, therefore I am working on not to be so hard on myself. “
What is your best happiness advice? “Be grateful for what you have around you and what you have already achieved. We are so busy setting new goals – we must make more money, exercise more, eat healthier… I still practice to be better at appreciating exactly where I am right now. “
Thank you Sofie, for your inspiring approach to health. I think we all could benefit from getting better at appreciating the present moment and not constantly strive for more. Happiness should not be the goal – it is the road.
